Degree Completion at UConn

UConn offers a degree completion program to students who want to return to college to complete a bachelor’s degree.

If you have an associate degree or at least 60 college credits from a degree granting regionally accredited college or university, you can apply, if you’re minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale) However, if you do not have a 2.7 GPA, you can meet with an academic advisor because you may be eligible for admission if you earn an additional 12 credits with a 3.0 GPA

At UConn, the Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) is built on the same standards of educational excellence expected of all UConn students and graduates.  Additionally, BGS students enroll in UConn courses alongside traditional students and learn from the same recognized faculty who teach across UConn and its regional campuses. A BGS degree, like other degrees, begins with a solid foundation built on general education requirements that allow students to experience learning across four content areas to gain knowledge in, and exposure to areas outside of their major area of study. Additionally, all students must complete competency in math, writing, information literacy and environmental studies, to ensure a working knowledge in these disciplines to support their future endeavors.

Visit the BGS website for additional information.
